Vab focuses his efforts on mobile, security, cloud, networking, cloud services, AR/VR, Space and Internet investments. He serves on the boards of 8th Wall, Virtela and World View.

He also works closely with Blue Jeans Network and Mist Systems. Other investments include Apigee (acquired by Google), C2C Pte. Ltd., LifeSize Communications (acquired by Logitech), Pontis (acquired by Amdocs), Qumranet (acquired by Red Hat), Ravello (acquired by Oracle), Unisfair (acquired by InterCall), Veveo (acquired by Rovi), Virtela (acquired by NTT) and Winphoria Networks (acquired by Motorola). Before joining Norwest, Vab was Qwest’s VP of emerging technologies, a group he founded.

He created Qwest’s Optical Network Strategy, which drove the world’s first IP over Sonet and the first IP over DWDM network. He also played a key role in the Global One IP network, a venture partnership with France Telecom, Sprint, and Deutsche Telecom.

Vab earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.
