Prior to joining Norwest, Umang was part of Mirae Asset’s Venture Capital (global growth equity fund with an AUM of ~$3bn) where he worked across sectors such as Enterprise Software, Logistics and Fintech. Prior to Mirae, he worked as an Associate at EY and Deutsche Bank’s Technology Investment Banking team, where advised businesses in the Enterprise Software and Fintech verticals.
Umang is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a CFA Level 3 candidate. He holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from N.M College, Mumbai.
Anubha focuses on early-stage and growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors.
She has 4+ years of venture investing experience across several sectors. Prior to joining Norwest, Anubha worked at DSG Consumer Partner where she led end-to-end execution on multiple consumer deals. Prior to DSG, she worked as a Senior Associate at InnoVen Capital, where she worked with startups across healthcare, mobility and consumer internet sectors.
Anubha holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Indore. She earned her Bachelor in Business Studies degree from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi.
Sharvil focuses on early-stage and growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors.
Prior to joining Norwest, Sharvil worked as an Investment Professional at Premji Invest (a late-stage Private Equity Fund with an AUM of ~USD 8 bn) where he worked across sectors such as Consumer, Industrials and Healthcare. Prior to Premji Invest, he worked as an Associate at o3 Capital, where he advised businesses across the healthcare vertical on M&A and Private Equity fund raise transactions.
Sharvil is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
Vrushin focuses on early-stage and growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors.
Before joining NVP India, Vrushin worked as an investment banking analyst at Avendus, where he advised digital and technology businesses on M&A and capital raise transactions. He also previously spent time managing a family-owned financial services business.
Vrushin earned a bachelor of science in electrical & computer engineering with a second major in economics from Duke University, where he was a member of the squash team.
Krish focuses on early stage and growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors.
Prior to joining NVP India, Krish worked as a Private Equity Associate at Lighthouse Fund where he evaluated investments across consumer businesses. Prior to Lighthouse, he worked as Senior Manager at Axis Capital, where he advised businesses across consumer, financial services, infrastructure and energy sectors on M&A and Private Equity fund raise transactions.
As part of his Chartered Accountancy course, Krish articled at EY in the TMT vertical of the Assurance practice.
Krish is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has earned a Bachelor of Commerce from H.R. College and a General LLB from K.C. Law College
Nikhil focuses on early stage and growth equity investments across a wide range of sectors at NVP India, with an emphasis on the Fintech, Insuretech, Wealthtech, B2B, Financial services and Consumer sector.
Prior to joining NVP India, Nikhil was an AVP in the Investment Banking division at Spark Capital Advisors, India. He focused on advising clients across the financial services domain and closed multiple transactions in affordable housing, SME finance, vehicle finance, stock exchange, debt marketplace and microfinance. Prior to Spark Capital, Nikhil also held positions with HSBC India and Deloitte.
Nikhil is a Chartered Accountant and Level 3 CFA candidate. He is an active beach runner and a badminton player.
Ankit focuses on early-stage and growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors.
Prior to joining NVP India, Ankit worked as an Investment Banking Associate with Société Générale, London, where he advised European financial institutions on M&A and capital raise transactions.
Before his MBA, he worked as an Investment Analyst with International Finance Corporation (IFC) focusing on private equity and private credit transactions within the financial services sector in South Asia. In this role, he evaluated investment opportunities, conducted due diligence, and closely monitored portfolio companies. Ankit has also previously held positions with Credit Suisse (M&A), Mumbai, and CDC Group Plc (Emerging Markets Private Equity), London.
Ankit obtained an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.
Niren is a Managing Director and the Head of Norwest India. Niren brings to Norwest India more than 20 years of investing, entrepreneurial, finance, operational, and investment banking experience. Niren serves as an advisor on India-based venture and growth equity investments across Technology, FinTech, Internet, and Consumer Sectors.
Niren has been with Norwest India for over 14 years and advised Norwest’s investments in Amagi Media Labs, CityMall, Cholamandalam Finance, Fibe, Finova Capital, Five Star Finance, IndusInd Bank, ING Vysya Bank, Jain Irrigation, Kotak Bank, Mensa Brands, Mintifi, OfBusiness.com, Oxyzo, RBL Bank, Shriram City, SK Finance, Swiggy.com, Ummeed Housing, Vastu Housing, Veritas Finance, Xpedeon, and XpressBees Logistics.
Prior to joining Norwest India, Niren was the Senior Director of Strategy and Ventures at eBay.com, Inc. in Silicon Valley. He was also part of the eBay Ventures leadership team. Prior to eBay, Niren was part of the Founding Management Team of Baazee.com, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace at the time, which was acquired by eBay in 2004.
Previously, Niren has been an investment banker with KPMG Corporate Finance in the Technology and Financial Services spaces and before that, a Registered Equity Trader on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Niren is a rank holder Chartered Accountant and a Gold medallist Masters in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Shiv brings to NVP India more than 17 years of investing and finance experience. Shiv serves as an advisor on growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors including consumer, healthcare, technology, business services, and financials.
NVP India investments that Shiv has been involved with include Celebal Technologies, Duroflex, Five Star Finance, Infinx, Indusind Bank, RBL Bank, SILA, SK Finance, Snowman Logistics, Thyrocare, and Veritas Finance.
Prior to re-joining NVP in 2019, Shiv spent a year with Edelweiss’ Private Equity Business where he led their investment in Sapphire Foods. Prior to this, Shiv was with NVP for 9 years. Shiv started his career with Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division where he worked in New York, London, and Mumbai over a 3 year period.
Shiv obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Oberlin College.
