Matt has more than 24 years of finance, operations and fund management experience across private and public investment strategies including private equity, venture capital and hedge funds. As Norwest’s Administrative Partner and CFO, Matt oversees the global operations functions for the firm including HR, Finance, Tax, IT, Facilities, and Data Science. He also plays a key role in the firm’s fundraising efforts and serves as a trusted advisor to finance leaders in the portfolio.

Before joining Norwest, Matt was Chief Financial Officer at Watershed Asset Management, an SEC registered investment adviser. At Watershed, Matt was responsible for the diverse business operations of the firm, managing over $1 billion across multiple hedge funds. Prior to that, he was Fund Controller at Highland Capital Partners, where he was part of a team responsible for the finance function for multiple venture capital and private equity funds. Matt previously held positions at Sowood Capital Management, Liberty Mutual Group and Ernst & Young.

Matt holds a BBA with a major in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Boston with a focus on finance and international business. Matt is a certified public accountant.
